According to the Child Accident Prevention Trust, more than 108,000 children under 15 are admitted to hospital every year as a result of unintentional injury, with the cost of children’s attendance at A&E following these accidents totalling £146 million a year.
Paediatric First Aid gives you the skills and knowledge needed to deal with accidents and emergencies involving babies and young children – a must for anyone who works with children in any setting.
Here at First Aid North East we offer evening Paediatric courses for those who look after children, work in nurseries or just want to be prepared in case the worse happens.
As part of the course, you will put together a First Aid kit which meets your workplace requirements, learn how to deal with a range of accidents, deal with a choking baby and child and recognise signs of early childhood illnesses including Meningitis, Measles and Croup.
Our evening courses are spread over 4 weeks, and are held on an evening from 6:30pm. Just like our usual paediatric courses, our evening course is still 12 hours long, costs £65 and complies with Ofsted requirements.
Our Paediatric First Aid certificates are issued on successful completion of the course and are valid for three years.
So far the course has been very popular among people who find it difficult to leave their daily work to join us for a day time course. To find out when our next course give us a ring on 0191 461 5042.
